Student Loans

There are a whole bunch of services out there offering student loan consolidation and college loan refinancing. While this can be helpful for those burdened by excessive debt, a better option is to avoid racking up debt in the first place.

There are many options available. Some are outlined in my recent article, Figuring Out Financial Aid. But this such a big issue for prospective and current college students that I’ve decided to make a new section of the site just for this purpose.

Visit the Financial Aid: Paying For Your College Education section for more information.

Welcome to College Chat!

College Chat is now open to the public. This site is a resource for both students and parents who are overwhelmed or confused by the college application process–or who just want to get an edge over the competition.

To learn more about this site, visit the About College Chat page.

There are also many other resources available to you. You can read the “College Chat” column from L.A. Family Magazine. You can also visit a few useful links or view a list of useful books to purchase.
As always, you can contact College Chat columnist James Freedman for advice. Visit the Get Help Now! page for more information.

In the near future, a chat room and a message board [added] will be added to the site–subscribe to the mailing list to be notified of updates.
